hmm.. don't usually write about what happened in the day, but i just feel like writing something today, so here goes.. (bear with my ramblings.. haha)

i guess today is a day with mixed feelings =S started the morning with nothing by lethargy =/ went into lab to check tlc for reaction, when i had the hunch that it will probably fail even before i start! oh well, was instructed by boss to do, so suck thumb loh! had to go about borrowing chemicals and doing dilution for the tlc and all i can say is that phenol and aniline really stinks! phenol is darn corrosive and i hate the smell to the core! =S gave me headache for the remainder of the morning =/ n yeap, reaction din worked at all! plain old sm was retrieved once again =S was asked to do another reaction later in the afternoon..

so after lunch, gotta go back lab pretty early. this time, it was a more dangerous reaction, lithiation to be exact. gotta beg pple to help me prepare ether from the solvent dispenser and luckily lao da was there to help =) found it pretty dumb to draw 100ml using syringe and decided to pour it out from the dispenser.. haha wrong thing to do but no one saw! =P then had to get dry ice! was pretty fun trying to break the whole block into small chunks and finally experienced the burning sensation when u touch dry ice! (ha din use those special gloves) and in goes everything and rxn was started. then after that had to add in nBuLi. urgh! highly hygroscopic and reactive base!! n my dearest boss asked me to do the addition...tmd! was quite interesting yet scary.. needle was fuming when i remove it from the bottle and i was like.. oh gosh! oh well.. luckily there were no flames, no explosion or nothing.. life's precious okie..

n just when i was wondering why my sup was pretty frenly and willing to teach today, i got the answer.. he was asked by big boss to psycho me to take org chem instead of chem engine. urgh! so he went on and on about how fun n interesting org chem is, all the things that can be done n even showed me some of the equipments.. hey tt's a rarity! was stunned, surprised but not convinced! oh well, am touched n can see where they are coming from.. know big boss thinks highly of me and her intentions are good.. BUT.. tt's coz i haven drop the bomb on them..

urgh.. just when i decided to make the call, implications start to develop. oh well, i know my mind is set, just that i dont have the heart to tell.. urgh! if everything were to be as simple as abc.. if everyone aren't that nice to me.. IF
